FAQs
1
How does therapy work?
Therapy is a collaborative process that provides a supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we'll work to better understand your challenges, build practical skills, foster personal growth, and help you move toward a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with your values. Healing happens at your own pace, and each session is tailored to your unique needs and goals.
2
How do I start therapy?
Getting started is simple. You can reach out through the contact form. All intake paperwork will need to be completed prior to being able to schedule an initial session. During First session you will get to discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you may have. Together, we'll create a plan and goals that fits your unique needs and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
3
How long are sessions?
Sessions, both individual and couples, are typically 53 minutes.

What is couples therapy?
Similar to starting individual therapy, filling out the contact form, intake paperwork, and then scheduling are the initial steps to start couples therapy. What is different from individual therapy is having both partners complete any necessary paperwork relevant to couples issues.
Couples therapy is designed to help two people strengthen their relationship by improving communication, deepening understanding, navigating conflict, and working toward shared goals. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply want to build a healthier, more connected relationship, therapy provides a supportive space to explore concerns and develop practical skills together.
Couples therapy is open to individuals in committed relationships of all backgrounds, including dating, engaged, married, long-term, and LGBTQIA+ couples. Partners may seek therapy for concerns such as communication difficulties, conflict, trust, intimacy, life transitions, parenting, grief and loss, stress, or simply to strengthen their relationship before challenges become overwhelming.
Both partners should be willing to participate openly and respectfully in the therapeutic process.

How do I know if you accept my insurance?
You can view my current list of accepted insurance plans on the Services or Fees page.
It is the client's responsibility to contact their insurance company before beginning services to verify eligibility, confirm that I am an in-network provider, and understand any deductibles, copays, coinsurance, referral requirements, or other out-of-pocket costs. If you have questions about the information needed to verify your benefits, I'm happy to help.

What is Grief and Loss Therapy?
Grief and loss therapy provides a compassionate, supportive space to process the emotional, physical, and personal impact of loss. While often associated with the death of a loved one or beloved pet, grief can also arise from life transitions, relationship changes, health concerns, infertility, career changes, or other significant life experiences. Every person's grief is unique, and there is no "right" way to grieve.
As a Certified Grief and Loss Therapist, I provide evidence-informed grief interventions tailored to your individual needs and experiences. Therapy may include psychoeducation about the grieving process, meaning-making, emotion processing, cognitive and mindfulness-based strategies, acceptance and self-compassion practices, narrative approaches, memory and legacy work, continuing bonds interventions, and practical coping skills to help you navigate daily life while honoring your loss.
My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can process your grief at your own pace, build resilience, and move toward healing without feeling pressured to "move on" or leave your loved one or loss behind. Together, we will work to help you carry your grief with greater understanding, compassion, and hope while finding a path forward that aligns with your values and your unique journey.
