About Finding North Counseling
At Finding North Counseling, I believe healing is not about becoming someone different, it's about reconnecting with yourself and discovering the path that feels most authentic to who you are.
Life's challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain of our direction. Together, we'll create a space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and begin finding your way forward.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I strive to meet you where you are, providing a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Using evidence-based interventions, practical coping strategies, and psychoeducation, we'll work together to deepen your self-understanding, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Inspired by the quiet strength and restorative beauty of Minnesota's north woods, Finding North Counseling embraces the idea that healing is a journey of rediscovering your own inner compass. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to walk that path alone.
My goal is to help you reconnect with your values, strengthen your confidence, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, purposeful, and aligned with the direction you want to go. Wherever you are in your journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you find your north.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate it alone. I look forward to supporting you as you begin your journey toward healing, growth, and finding your north.
Meet Clare
Hello, I'm Clare Beardsley, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and the founder of Finding North Counseling.
My journey into the mental health field has been shaped by a passion for helping others navigate life's challenges with compassion, curiosity, and hope.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Studio Arts from Concordia University, St. Paul in 2017 before moving to Pennsylvania to complete my Master of Arts in Art Therapy with a Specialization in Counseling at Seton Hill University in 2020.
For more than 12 years, I have worked in the mental health field, including the past six years providing psychotherapy in private practice. I work with adults and couples, offering a collaborative, evidence-based approach that is tailored to each person's unique experiences, strengths, and goals.
I have specialized training as an Art Therapist, Certified Grief and Loss Therapist, Certified Pet Grief and Loss Therapist, and have completed Gottman Method training for couples therapy.
My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, pet loss, women's issues, stress, burnout, ADHD, OCD, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I believe that healing happens through genuine connection, practical tools, self-understanding, and creating space to move toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned with your values.
Outside of the therapy office, you'll often find me exploring the outdoors. I love hiking, camping, canoeing, and spending time each year in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, where I find peace and renewal in nature. I'm also a devoted animal lover and enjoy spending time with my two dogs, Remi and Otto, who continually remind me of the importance of presence, joy, and unconditional connection.
Whether you're seeking support during a difficult season or looking to better understand yourself and your relationships, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you discover your own path toward healing and growth.
